The Japan Wheelchair Rugby Federation is pleased to announce that the “Mitsui Fudosan Wheelchair Rugby SHIBUYA CUP 2024” will be held between November 18 (Mon.) – 20 (Wed.) at the Yoyogi National Stadium 2nd Gymnasium. We are also pleased to announce the Japan national team members that will be participating in the tournament.

This tournament is positioned as a legacy event for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, with the aim of maintaining a continuous increase in interest in para-sports and creating opportunities for children who will lead the future to watch live sports. It is also held as an international tournament for developing young athletes, and is intended to enable the development of world-class wheelchair rugby athletes by having the next generation of athletes from around the world compete in an environment on the same scale as a regular international tournament.

We are pleased to announce that Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd. will support this event as an event partner. We are grateful for Mitsui Fudosan for supporting our event concept and has been supporting the federation since 2016, and has been our top partner since 2017.

Furthermore, we will have LIVE BOARD, INC. support the tournament as a media partner. LIVE BOARD has supported the tournament since 2022 and promoted the tournament by airing promotional videos on LIVE BOARD’s digital OOH screens across a total of 60 screens in the Tokyo metropolitan area (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama) for the “MITSUI FUDOSAN 2022 Wheelchair Rugby SHIBUYA CUP” and “Mitsui Fudosan 2023 World Wheelchair Rugby Asia-Oceania Championship”.

In addition, this time, the event will be co-hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Shibuya City, where the venue, Yoyogi National Gymnasium, is located.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government has provided us with tremendous support for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and also for the “Mitsui Fudosan 2023 World Wheelchair Rugby Asia-Oceania Championship” held at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium last year.

Shibuya City has been continuously promoting wheelchair rugby in schools within the city since before the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, making it an area of particularly high interest in the sport, and will be cooperating with us as a co-host of the tournament.
